Germany has unveiled a €377 billion plan to modernize its military, the Bundeswehr, through 320 projects aimed at enhancing its capabilities across land, air, sea, cyber, and space. This announcement was made in Berlin.

The modernization initiative includes significant investments from key defense contractors, with Rheinmetall leading the way with €88 billion and Diehl Defence contributing €17 billion. Among the major acquisitions outlined in the plan are 687 Puma vehicles, 561 Skyranger systems, IRIS-T missiles, new drones, and a €9.5 billion satellite network.

Notably, only 5% of the budget is allocated for U.S. military systems, which include the F-35 fighter jets, Tomahawk missiles, and P-8 surveillance aircraft.

This comprehensive modernization effort reflects Germany"s commitment to strengthening its defense capabilities in response to evolving security challenges in Europe.
