Trinidad and Tobago has declared Alert Level 1 for its Armed Forces, the highest level of operational readiness, effective immediately. The Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force (TTDF) has issued orders for all soldiers and Coast Guard officers to report to their respective bases by this evening.

A memo circulated to TTDF members yesterday confirmed the transition to State One Alert Level. All soldiers are required to report to their bases by 6 p.m., with a general muster scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

According to multiple intelligence and military sources, soldiers have been instructed to return to the four main military bases located at Cumuto, La Romaine, Chaguaramas, and Long Circular. Coast Guard officers are directed to report to Staubles Bay, Galeota Point, and the Cedros Security Complex.

The memo emphasized, “This is not a drill,” advising all ranks to make arrangements with their families and prepare for possible confinement.
