Ukraine"s Foreign Intelligence Service (SZRU) has issued a warning that Russia is allegedly preparing a large-scale false-flag operation that could result in significant civilian casualties. This operation is reportedly intended to be blamed on Ukraine in an effort to disrupt ongoing peace talks mediated by the United States.
The SZRU indicated that the potential provocation may target a religious or symbolic site in Russia or in occupied Ukrainian territories, coinciding with Orthodox Christmas on January 7. The intelligence service suggested that evidence for this operation could include debris from Western-made drones that may be planted at the scene.
This warning comes amid heightened tensions between Ukraine and Russia, as both nations continue to navigate the complexities of the conflict. For more on related coverage, see recent developments in international conflicts.
