As the United States enforces and expands its blockade, additional military assets have arrived in the Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) region. Fourteen F-35A Lightning II stealth fighters from the Vermont Air National Guard (VTANG) 158th Fighter Wing were deployed to Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico, last week. Alongside this deployment, the 921st Contingency Response Squadron is stationed at the Santiago de los Caballeros Airport (SDQ). Additional aircraft in the region include the USAF U-28A Draco, EC-130H Compass Call, and MC-130J.

According to President Joe Biden, the vessel M/T Bella 1 is still evading capture.
