M23 advances in South Kivu; FARDC bombs positions in Fizi and Masisi

In the ongoing conflict in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, M23 forces have advanced south from Uvira town into the Fizi district of South Kivu. In response, the Congolese army (FARDC) has reportedly conducted airstrikes on M23-aligned positions in the highlands near Minembwe town, also located in the Fizi district.

Additionally, the FARDC targeted an M23 position near Nyabiondo town in the Masisi district of North Kivu. Meanwhile, M23 engaged in combat with Wazalendo fighters in the southern part of the Masisi district.
