Ukraine"s Security Service (SBU) has detained a Russian assassin recruited by the FSB in Kyiv. The suspect, a 28-year-old foreign national, was apprehended while attempting to kill an officer from Ukraine"s Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR).
The SBU reported that the suspect was caught in the act with a pistol and had been promised $50,000 along with assistance for legalization in the European Union by his handlers. Evidence indicating coordination with the FSB was also seized during the operation.
