Yemen Update: Areas of Control in Ongoing Civil War
The ongoing civil war in Yemen involves several key belligerents. The Republic of Yemen, supported by Saudi Arabia, is represented by the internationally recognized Yemeni government and the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), along with pro-PLC National Resistance forces. On the opposing side, the Supreme Political Council, backed by Iran, leads the Ansarallah movement, also known as the Houthi militia, along with pro-SPC tribes.
In Southern Yemen, the United Arab Emirates supports the Southern Transitional Council (STC). Additionally, there is an ongoing insurgency by Al-Qaeda in the region.
